Owning and Maintaining a Horse Stable

Undeniably the most costly pets to own these days are horses. From the time they were domesticated many years ago they have served man well. They are a great help for ranches and they have even helped win battles. For these reasons, horses still remain the most useful and well loved animals.

It is said that horses have a special way of communicating with their owners and they are also extremely loyal. They will even give up their lives if it means serving their master. Thus, many stories and movies have been made showcasing the unparalleled importance of horses to man.

If you are a horse lover and would like one as a pet, you first need to think about where your horse will stay. You must realise that building a stable is not as easy as it seems and needs a little forethought and some time to accomplish.

There are two ways to go about stabling your horse. You are able to choose between boarding horse stables or your own personal stable. Your circumstances will dictate which option is best for you.

If you don’t have the space to set up your own stable, then boarding stables would be the best option for you. Boarding stables charge a fee for your horse to stay there and function as a business. This is also a good choice if you need some time to build your own stable.

The boarding stables are well equipped to take care of a lot of horses. You can sleep peacefully knowing that when your horse is in their care it will be well looked after. There is also staff on duty 24 hours a day to make sure all your horse’s needs are taken care of.

The one problem with boarding stables is that you may have to travel to see your horse if there are none nearby where you live. This could decrease the amount of time you are able to spend with your horse thereby decrease the amount of time you have to bond with your horse. Also, the boarding fees charged can become quite expensive over time.

Personal horse stables are a good choice if you have a large area available. If the area is large enough to accommodate a stable it is always best to have your own. Who knows, you might decide to take on the breeding of horses and produce more. The sooner you set up, the better.

If you decide to build your own stable, you must make sure that you have enough funds to complete the project. Your area that you build on needs to be about 2 acres per horse and if possible, in an area that does not have a lot of noise pollution. Horses scare easily and if they are in a noisy area they will not be comfortable.

If you want your stable to last a long time, make sure you buy only the most durable materials. However, the most important factor to bear in mind is the water system. You need to make sure that you have a very good one in place for your horse.
